These terms are the contract between you and Charlesworth AI, the business behind Vanlife Stories (details in the legal notice). Please read them together with the privacy notice, which explains what happens to your data. By ticking the box before your first upload, you accept both.
Vanlife Stories is a sample project: a free web app that stores your travel photos, blurs number plates in them, labels them and puts them on a map. It is offered as it is, may change or stop, and is not a service you should rely on as the only copy of your photos. Keep your originals.
Accounts are by invitation only, and you must be at least 18. You are responsible for your account and for what you upload with it. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Anyone can look around the site and try the read-only demo, which needs no account and stores nothing about you.
You own your photos and keep all your rights in them. Uploading gives Charlesworth AI only what is needed to run the service for you: to store, process and show your photos to you, and to look at them when needed to help you, fix a fault or keep the site secure.
Your photos are private. They are never shared, published, posted on social media, sold or used to train software. That permission ends when you delete a photo or your account.
Only upload photos you took or have the right to use. Do not upload anything unlawful or anything that infringes someone else's rights. The site blurs number plates but does not blur faces.
To keep the site running on a small server, each account has an upload limit, and photos are processed a few at a time. You can choose several photos at once and they are worked through in turn.
You can delete your account whenever you like in Settings, which deletes your photos and everything else stored for it. Charlesworth AI may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and may change or end the service; where it can, it will give notice first.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer or any liability that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, the service is provided free and as it is, and Charlesworth AI is not liable for loss of photos or data that you could have avoided by keeping your own copies.
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date above and the version change, and you are asked to accept them again before your next upload.
If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live, and you may bring a dispute before the courts that have jurisdiction under the law.
If something goes wrong, please write to us first through the contact page. We will reply within one month.
